Our story begins in 2018, after introducing walking football to the country, thanks to international partnerships with The Federation of International Walking Football Associations (FIWFA), thus becoming the official and representative organization for the sport in the country.
We are a civil society organization (CSO) responsible for officially bringing and disseminating walking football in Brazil, focusing on a form of football played while walking for people aged 60 and over. We operate in the areas of: Sport, Lifelong Learning, and Research, inspired by the co-creation of solutions and experiences for active longevity, providing a positive impact on an active and fulfilling life, and contributing to the physical and emotional well-being of people aged 60 and over of all genders.
Walking Football Brasil (WFB) was created to act inclusively and diversely, connecting important social actors in the longevity ecosystem, promoting the democratization of sport and its contribution to well-being and positive social transformation for those aged 60 and over. We connect with universities, such as Unicamp, for the production of scientific research and created our WFB publishing house to produce experience reports.
Today, we maintain 16 centers for this program throughout Brazil, train professionals in 47 cities across all five regions, impact more than 2,500 people by 2025, have won 11 awards, connect with more than 20 private partners, and more than 15 public partnerships, with a team of 50 people dedicated to social impact on the daily lives of aging in Brazil.
