For nearly three decades, CIEDS (Integrated Center for Studies and Sustainable Development Programs) has been developing innovative solutions to tackle poverty and create greater prosperity for all. CIEDS designs and implements scalable social impact solutions that strengthen communities and territories by connecting businesses, governments, civil society organizations, and individuals.
Headquartered in Rio de Janeiro, with regional offices in São Paulo and Ceará, CIEDS operates nationwide, designing, implementing, and scaling initiatives that empower people, organizations, and communities. Its work combines technical expertise, proprietary methodologies, strong multi-stakeholder engagement, and a deep understanding of local realities.
Over its 28-year history, CIEDS has built recognized expertise in sustainable development, education, productive inclusion, entrepreneurship, citizenship, diversity, social participation, and institutional strengthening. Its work contributes directly to building more equitable, resilient, and inclusive societies, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and global sustainability agendas.
The organization’s work is structured around five strategic areas:
Inclusion and Well-Being
We create opportunities for vulnerable individuals and communities to expand access to rights, income generation, social protection, and quality of life. Our initiatives address inequalities by strengthening individual and collective capacities and promoting more dignified and autonomous life trajectories.
Entrepreneurship and Productive Inclusion
We believe entrepreneurship is a powerful driver of social transformation. Through capacity-building, economic opportunity creation, and support for impact-driven businesses, we contribute to income generation, local development, and the sustainability of people and organizations.
Education
We work to reduce educational inequalities by strengthening learning networks, supporting educators and school leaders, improving learning environments, and fostering stronger connections between schools, families, and communities. We view education as a key driver of human and social development.
Community Engagement
We strengthen civic participation and encourage individuals and institutions to take an active role in addressing collective challenges. By promoting social participation, democratic dialogue, and shared responsibility, we contribute to the advancement of human rights and the common good.
Socio-Environmental Development
We recognize the close relationship between social inequalities and socio-environmental challenges. Our initiatives integrate climate action, environmental conservation, and territorial development, promoting sustainable solutions that support climate adaptation, protect natural resources, and improve the living conditions of vulnerable populations.
Since its founding, CIEDS has implemented more than 800 projects, directly benefiting over 2.5 million people and building partnerships with more than 800 organizations.
In 2025 alone, CIEDS implemented 68 projects in partnership with 45 funding organizations, further expanding its reach and strengthening its capacity to generate social impact at scale.
