Fundação Maria Emília (FME) is a non-profit organization based in Salvador, Bahia. Conceived by Pamphilo Pedreira Freire de Carvalho, it was named in honor of the mother of this businessman from the state of Bahia.
As a private social investor (grantmaker), for 26 years we have been striving to generate positive social impact by supporting development in the fields of education and health. We promote dissemination of knowledge through scholarships, research projects, and institutional partnerships, both national and international.
